Couldn't find a topic for this already, so here we go.
The vehicle interaction is seriously flawed. For the most of the time I cannot enter and exit vehicles in the intended way. And when I sit in it, I cannot change seat. I have found that if I tap the button twice, it works. But then it suddenly registers both keystrokes, and I quickly jump in and out of the vehicle... So if I want to get in, I have to tap the button three times. Same goes for out.
The buttons work a short moment afterwards, then the game seems to forget it again, and I have to "wake it" by taping twice again.
I have so far only tried LAVs, but it was during different sessions with the PS3 switched off between. |

Sure, I'll try more whenever I have time to play again. Hopefully later today, but I'm a little busy this weekend.
I didn't notice this behavior with installation turrets. (although on a side note, I've noticed that if one hacks a vehicle or installation of any kind very late in the process, no hack confirmation nor warpoints is received). Shooting and driving worked normally. |

Okay, now I have played a full skirmish match and experimented with this for 15 minutes. At first I almost gave up, since everything seemed to work no matter how long I waited between pressing the buttons. And the all of a sudden it started to malfunction again.
I tested long and hard, but I didn't dare to wait too long so the LAV didn't blow up in front of me due to vacancy. It seems that it is more likely to occur if one haven't pushed any buttons for a while. And if it happens, it is not consistent. Mostly the 'change seat' command doesn't work. Sometimes also entering and exiting the vehicle doesn't work. It is easier to enter the vehicle than to exit, i.e. it is more likely that exiting doesn't work than entering. As I wrote before, it works again if I press the button twice, and then it registers both presses. If I wait a few seconds, the game 'forgets' it again. Shooting and driving seems to have no effect on waking it up, but perhaps prevents the game from 'forgetting' it if shooting/driving is initiated before it forgets. But I'm not sure.
I couldn't find any problems using installation turrets.
I used two different controllers, an old Sixaxis, and a newer DualShock3 from 2011, both with and without USB-cable. It didn't make any difference. The flaw could occur in any instance. Vary hard to replicate. I is very random. |
